Tworkow Forest

The Tworkowski Forest is a small but well-preserved and naturally valuable fragment of oak-hornbeam and riparian forests with numerous patches of old-growth forest, with an area of 170 ha. The Oder River enters Polish territory in Chałupki, located in the south of the Silesian Voivodeship. There it flows northwards, forming a picturesque valley, strongly meandering and forming extensive floodplains and oxbow lakes. The riverside landscape is dominated by meadows and arable fields; forests are rare. One of them is a forest complex located near the settlement of Ligota Tworkowska, east of the village of Tworków in the municipality of Krzyżanowice.
